AVERAGE, MIN and MAX

The typical, the smallest and the biggest

Maya wants to know what a “normal” result looks like, and what her best and worst moments were.

AVERAGE adds the numbers and divides by how many there are. It's the “typical” value.

MIN finds the smallest number in a range, MAX the biggest.

All three ignore empty cells and text, just like SUM.

=AVERAGE(range) =MIN(range) =MAX(range)

An average can hide a lot. Always check MIN and MAX next to it.
