The fill handle

Write once, copy down

Fifteen rows means fifteen revenue formulas. Nobody types those one by one. Meet the little round dot in the corner of a selected cell: the fill handle (yes, it's in our logo).

Read the short explanation and practise below: it takes about 6 minutes.

Select a cell with a formula and grab the small round dot in its bottom-right corner. Drag it down, and the formula copies into every cell you pass.

The clever part: the references move with it. =E2*F2 in row 2 becomes =E3*F3 in row 3, =E4*F4 in row 4, and so on. These are called relative references.

Shortcut: double-click the dot and the sheet fills down to the end of your data.
