IF

Let the sheet make a decision

Maya calls anything that sells 40 or more a best seller. And when it rains, she needs the tent. Let's teach the sheet to decide.

IF asks a yes/no question and returns one thing if the answer is yes, another if it's no.

=IF(F2>=40, "Best seller", "-") reads: if F2 is at least 40, show “Best seller”, otherwise show “-”.

Text goes in double quotes. Comparisons you can use: =, <>, >, <, >=, <=.

=IF(test, value if yes, value if no)

<> means “is not equal to”. =IF(B2<>"Sunny", …) catches rain and anything else.
