Sort and filter

Sort puts rows in order by one column: A→Z, Z→A, smallest to largest or largest to smallest. Whole rows move together, so nothing gets mixed up.

Filter hides the rows you don't need right now. They're not deleted, just out of sight.

In Google Sheets: Data › Create a filter. Then use the little funnel icon in any header.

Never sort just one column of a table: the rest of the row stays behind and your data is ruined. Here the grid always sorts whole rows.
